If you’re looking for inspiration and ideas to keep the kids entertained during the October school holidays in Perth, we’ve found some fun, boredom-busting activities your kids will love.

Experience Elizabeth Quay after dark

Light, water and sound bring ancient stories to life at The Story of Kooyar, an after dark experience along the waterfront. Head down to Elizabeth Quay to watch the 20-minute immersive water show, see roaming puppets and live performances while following Kooyar's journey through the Noongar six seasons.

Go intergalactic at the new Gravity Adventure Centre

Burn off some energy at Perth's new Gravity Adventure Centre in Midland. Bounce, tumble, flip and slide at this huge indoor adventure playground featuring steep slides, parkour trampolines, rock climbing walls, 360 degree bikes, high ropes course and toddler zone.

Check out AWESOME Festival

Kids, LEGO® to Bricktober

Discover what's on in Kings Park

Kings Park has a fun nature-based school holiday calendar packed with events from bush camp, bee hotel workshops and green thumbs sessions, to family twilight adventures and native journalling.

The first-ever drone show will also light up Kings Park for Moortabiny in October, with stunning formations of WA landscapes crafted by award-winning author Kim Scott.

Get crafty in Mandurah

Creative and curious kids will love what's on in Mandurah these school holidays. WA's biggest outdoor painting festival is on over the September long weekend, and the Mandurah Arts Festival is running until 12 October with a whole program just for kids.

There's also a range of activities including a wooden shark workshop, children's heritage walk, sea monster origami workshop, and roller disco on during the school holidays in Mandurah.

ZOOlights at Perth Zoo

A dazzling light exhibition will transform Perth Zoo into a memorable after-dark adventure with hundreds of sparkling lanterns lighting up one of Perth's most iconic family destinations. There will be roving light-up entertainers and live music on the main lawn, with many animals on display.

Get totally LIT in Freo

A free school holiday adventure designed for children aged 2-11 years, the Totally Lit Festival takes families on a pirate-themed treasure hunt through six Fremantle locations.

Pick up your map from Fremantle Town Hall and begin your treasure hunt through the city with free kids' activities along the way.

Junior Marine Scientist at AQWA

There’s plenty to keep kids busy at AQWA these school holidays. Kids aged 6–12 can join the Junior Marine Scientist program and dive into the world of marine science through experiments, animal encounters and hands-on activities.

Swan Valley Adventure Centre

There are plenty of boredom-busting activities to keep the kids busy at Swan Valley Adventure Centre. Kids aged 7–14 take part in a supervised adventure program featuring flying fox, canoeing, archery, raft building and more across 89 acres of bushland. 
 
Each day includes a different activity combination, making it perfect for repeat visits.
