While Yanchep is best known for its beaches and koala-spotting in the national park, there’s now another reason to take a scenic 40-minute drive north of Perth.
Formerly known as Yanchep Lavender Farm, the property has been reimagined as Lavender Estate, following a stunning transformation that brings a fresh new energy to the beloved family destination.
The boutique farm, café and retail space now offer a relaxed dining experience, new-look gift shop, and expanded seating areas overlooking fields of lavender.
Spanning 26 acres and home to more than 40,000 fragrant bushes across 44 rows, Lavender Estate puts the purple bloom centre stage. Established around 20 years ago, the farm has been recognised nationally for its award-winning, pure lavender oil.
Visitors can indulge in their signature lavender scones – light, fluffy and perfectly paired with jam, cream and a classic Devonshire tea or barista coffee. On warmer days, cool down with a scoop of violet-hued lavender ice cream or sip on a WA-crafted lavender gin and tonic. The lunch menu caters to everyone with burgers, pizza and pancakes just some of what's on offer.
Lavender Estate also operates its own small-batch distillery, producing a wide range of lavender-based products made on-site. The farm grows three oil-producing varieties – Grosso, Impress Purple and Vera – which are steam-distilled and crafted into everything from essential oils and teas to skincare and their popular lavender sleep spray.
The new shop is stocked with these locally made products, making it the perfect stop for gifts or a little self-care treat, and if you need a refill, you can grab it online.
Children can explore the shaded playground and open lawns, while parents relax on the café deck or beer garden and soak in the views. Even four-legged family members are welcome to join outdoors.
For a deeper experience, weekday-trippers can book the Devonshire Tea & Distillery Tour, which includes a classic Devonshire tea followed by a guided behind-the-scenes look at how lavender oil is made. More immersive farm and distillery experiences are set to be added soon.
If you’re chasing that picture-perfect purple bloom, the best time to visit is between December and February, when the fields are in full flower, however there's no bad time to head here on a Sunday drive.
Lavender Estate is open Thursday to Sunday and located at 272 Old Yanchep Road, Carabooda.
